Huawei Introduces nova 12 Ultra, Pro, Standard, and Lite Models with Innovative Features

Huawei made a significant announcement today, unveiling its latest nova 12 Ultra and nova 12 Pro smartphones equipped with physical variable aperture cameras and satellite connectivity. Alongside these premium releases, the Chinese tech giant also introduced the nova 12 and nova 12 Lite, catering to more budget-conscious consumers.

The Huawei nova 12 features a stunning 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display, offering a resolution of 2,412  x 1,084 pixels. This smartphone incorporates a fingerprint reader for seamless biometric authentication and a centered punch-hole housing an impressive 60MP ultrawide selfie camera, featuring a 100-degree field of view (FOV). Displaying vibrant visuals, it supports 1 billion colors and encompasses a P3 wide color gamut for an immersive viewing experience.

On the rear, the nova 12 showcases an elliptical camera module, including an LED flash, laser focus sensor, a 50MP primary camera equipped with an RYYB color filter array, and an 8MP ultrawide camera boasting a 112-degree FOV.

Running on HarmonyOS 4, the Huawei nova 12 offers two storage options: 256GB and 512GB. Although specific details about the processor are not explicitly mentioned on the website, reports suggest it may house the Kirin 830 SoC.

Highlighted features of the Huawei nova 12 also encompass a robust 4,600mAh battery supporting rapid 100W charging, alongside connectivity options like USB-C and NFC. Additionally, it introduces a unique “bionic breathing liquid-cooling pulsating heat conduction” technology aimed at enhancing heat dissipation by 60 times, as per Chinese translations.

Contrasting the nova 12, the nova 12 Lite showcases a slimmer profile (6.88mm vs. 6.98mm), lighter build (168g vs. 191g), a slightly smaller 4,500mAh battery, and slower 66W charging capabilities. The Lite version features the Snapdragon 778G processor and a 50MP primary camera without an RYYB color filter array, presenting a distinct design on its rear panel.

Both the Huawei nova 12 and nova 12 Lite offer the same color options and storage variants. The nova 12 is priced at CNY2,999 ($420/€380/Rs.34,915) for the 256GB version and CNY3,399 ($475/€430/Rs.39,570) for the 512GB model.
